Paluwagan

Who do they interact with. What kind of relationships do they need?  Two ways of borrowing money: either via "lista" system in the sari-sari stores or she borrows small amounts of between P100-P200 from what she calls her “LL (Luwag Luwag) Circle of Friends. ” They have been a group for over 10 years and she feels fortunate to be part of this t rusted circle who also run an umpukan where she puts in about P200 every other week and might receive P5000 in December. This saves her from having to resort to “5-6” (which she considers an unwise option) or lending groups for the urban poor like Pagasa, Kaagapay or Ahon (less preferred due to the perceived risk of having to pay extra in order to compensate for others who fail to do so).
